VBS


1. Look for VBS and carnival flyers at church on Sunday!
            Hand these out to the families you are inviting to VBS.
            Also this Sunday ~ you can pre-register your family for VBS.

 


2. Pampered Chef Fund raiser!
             We need every family to place an order or gather orders for this fund raiser to be a HUGE success. No order is too small!!
            We have big plans to show Jesus' love through "relational events" and this can't happen without your support. We will get 35% of our sales back in cash!! Exciting!
            **If you need a book, order forms or have questions call Amy Stephenson at 419.496.1720.
            **If you are collecting orders (not online) be sure to turn them into VBS leader at church on Sunday, May 31st. Orders must be received by noon on the 31st.
            **Keep track of your order totals ~ there are REWARDS for the 3 highest sellers!!

             Some helpful ideas! 
                      **Look for postcards at church on Sunday that explain the fund raiser. You can pass these out to everyone you know!
                      **Grab a packet at church on Sunday. They include order forms, a book, and informational letter.
                      **Email everyone in your "address book", copy the message below to explain what we are doing and ask them to place an order too!

Who: Park Street, First Church of the Brethren, Ezekiel and Five Stones (churches in Ashland, Ohio)

What: ON-LINE FUND RAISER!! These four churches are partnering together & are sharing Jesus' love with the community! We need to raise money to fund some special "relational events." We are holding the on-line fund raiser through Pampered Chef and they are going to give us 35% of our total sales back in cash!

When: Place your Pampered Chef order on-line NOW ~ MAY 30th.

Where: Simple ~ no need to go anywhere. Support us while you are sitting at home on-line and you will be helping to show Jesus to families who don't know Him.

If you would prefer a book & order forms, or have any questions contact Amy Stephenson (fund raiser coordinator) at 419.496.1720. Then email this to all your friends so they can get in on the fun too!

3. May 31st Carnival 12:30 ~ 3pm
       Hand out flyers to the families/friends who your family is investing in.
       Let Nicole (Park Street), Kathy (Ezekiel), Diane, Chris (First Church of the Brethren) Laurie, Becca, Jennifer or Sandy (Five Stones) if you would like to volunteer.

4. First Presbyterian Church is now partnering with us for VBS. They have an exciting outreach opportunity this summer!
       They want to "love on" the kids in the community who hang out in the area around the Jr. High parking lot. They are going to be setting up barbecue grills where                 these children hang out and start to build relationships with them.
   Ways you can help!
       **Show up
       **Sign up to bring food (could be cookies, chips, pop, hotdogs ~ whatever you can do)
       **They also meet with kids during the school year ~ you could join them in this. They really need "guys" to hang with the "guys".

FUN NEWS: God is moving mountains for this VBS. He has "hand delivered" many huge obstacles (or at least I thought they were) like enough decorations, enough costumes, enough volunteers, and the list goes on. One church from Wooster heard about our VBS and said "we have a U-haul sized truck full of decorations you can have and we have 150 costumes you can borrow." Bam! just like that huge obstacles are gone! Needless to say we have been blown away at howGod is blessing this VBS! Last night I was told that a 6th church wants to get involved with this outreach. How amazing and exciting the plans God must have! Oh, one more thing: Jesus loves You!!

 


5. June 14th starting at 12:30 we will begin setting up the VBS field. If anyone would like to come help setup fence posts and build buildings ~ we would love your help! Let Nicole (Park Street), Kathy (Ezekiel), Diane, Chris (First Church of the Brethren) Laurie, Becca, Jennifer or Sandy (Five Stones) if you would like to volunteer.


6. We are in immediate need of people to help organize costumes. You would be tagging all the costumes getting them ready for VBS and then helping to clean them afterwards so we can nicely return them to the church who let us borrow them.
