Clear Vision
By Christa KaliszMay 2, 2011
On Sunday, April 10th I sat in awe of God. This was not the first time and it won’t be the last, but it was a crisp, clear moment of admiration, compassion, and complete joy. Our 5 Stones children displayed their talents in an effort to glorify God at our fourth annual Jesus’ Kids Got Talent show. This day is a fun, relaxed celebration of unique gifts such as singing, gymnastics, and artistic talent. It brings me great joy to see families come to watch, participate, and support our beautiful children. This particular day I was stopped in mid-breath, caught in pure wonder of our Lord and his ability to work in the lives of our children and through them, to reach many of us. So many of the talents that I was able to witness and cheer on made me swell with God’s love. One in particular spoke God’s vision and desire for our children at 5 Stones directly to me. During a reading of one of his own poems, Jack Shultz spoke God’s ever-present words to my heart: these children – they are what it is all about. Even now the memory of it causes me to overflow with love. Love for this God who can move in unpredictable ways and be so clear. Such a simple message, but so easy to forget. The words resonated within my very being. It was impossible for me to ignore. Praise God for our children, for their incredible lives, dedicated families, and encouraging community members. God is being glorified through our children and thus being glorified by those people who love them, listen to them, and draw them deeper into a relationship with him. Thank you for being one of those people.
