A Quick Glimpse @ Missional 5 Stones

One of the reasons that I began attending 5 Stones was the focus on being missional in the community. (This is not supposed to be an advertisement, but it may be...) From the budget to the monthly missional adventures, God is continually working in the lives of 5 Stones peeps to give of their time, money, and actively choose into serving others in our community. This vision of serving can become contagious. Whether it is blessing folks with Christmas gifts, loving on the AU physical plant employees, or assisting folks at the local laundry-mat, I love how God is using the people of 5 Stones as hands and feet in this world. Upcoming missional opportunity: April 15th - TAX RELIEF. Showing the love of Jesus by serving food to those dropping their taxes off at the Ashland Post Office from 9-5. During a time when finances get crazy, people get cranky, and the deadline of tax day is wreaking stress upon the lives of people all around Ashland - we want to provide a bright spot in that crazy day. As youth pastor at 5 Stones, we have strived to teach, train, and empower students grades 6-12 to be missional as well. Just recently the teens of 5 Stones went to Cleveland, Ohio to serve at the Nehemiah Mission - they had the opportunity to work on housing projects, painting, moving furniture, serving food at a men's shelter, and clearing tons of debris at the facility.
